Biography

Married Owen Mayer 10-64 who helped me through North Side Chicago Teachers College. (Attended 1963-1965 - now Northeastern Illinois University). B.E. 1965. I have taught elementary school in Chicago, Duluth MN, and in the Chicago suburb of Mt. Prospect. I subbed in a number of west and northwest suburbs. Since 1978 I have had a permanent teaching position in Elgin School District U-46. In 1999 I obtained an M.A. in Education from Aurora University. In 2004 I retired from full-time teaching.

Our daughter Genevieve graduated as one of several valedictorians in 1991 from Fremd High School in Palatine, IL. She did her undergraduate studies at UCLA and graduated in 1995. She entered a combined MBA and law program (JD) at New York University and graduated in May 1999. She lived in Spain and enjoyed it a lot. She has done legal translating and had a job translating and overseeing the use of software contracts.

She now is a bilingual teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
