We live near Palmer on the 160 acre farm where Tom spent his teen years. What a gorgeous setting in the Matanuska Valley, with 6,500' Pioneer Peak, part of the Chugach Mountain range, just 5 miles away; glaciers and year-round snow-capped mountains. It is very green in our short summer, with 20 hours of daylight. It is very white and cold in our long winter, with 4 hours of daylight. We have raised a variety of animals over the years.
